Playing guitar with Dave

Unread post by billywestom » Sat Jan 18, 2003 7:26 pm

Hopefully the Title didn't get anyone's hopes up, I was just wondering if anyone else thought about the idea of a contest or something where Dave would let a fan come on stage and play guitar for him while he sang. It seems like a cool idea, since there are a lot of fans out there (like us) who know how to play his songs. Just an idea...
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

he's so used to playing and singing together that I'd probably difficult for him to sing over somone different playing. But then again I could be completely wrong. And yes I've thought that.
good, and you?

maybe, but not necesarily. when he recorded joyful girl with soulive, im pretty sure he didn't play any guitar. and it came out pretty well

yes i've thought of that. as a matter of fact, i was just thinking how cool that would be about an hour ago. that would be the greatest contest to win ever. if you could open a concert for him, but have him sing while you play. :D

I, too, have thought of that. I think it'd be awesome. And I think i'd know if the guitar was plugged in or not since i'd probably slip up once or twice and i'd either hear it or not.

sounds like a neat idea... although i doubt it would ever happen.. maybe a contest where the winner gets to have dave play with him on one of the winner's OWN song.... who knows :P

yeah, no shit right? I don't know what I'd be more terrified about - the thousands of people in the audience or playing for fucking DAVE MATTHEWS. shit, I'd probably forget how to play a goddamn G chord, let alone trying to play fuckin' Tripping Billies or some shit. it's fun to think about though.

peace

I like to think I would just get up there and be as comfortable as always and just play like I always do.
