its not that i say "hey they're my favorite band, everything they do is amazing" - so no, i don't love it all (see mother father, STDH), but if i had to guess (which is why i said probably) i'm going to like itNitro1515 wrote:Do you dislike anything they have ever done?DJR07 wrote:tell you what, i'll probably like it no matter what any one else says (very much like how i felt about stand up) - so i'm eagerly looking forward to this release

As am I. Though, Im not going to say "no matter what they do, Im going to love it". But I trust the band enough to be able to say that I will most likely enjoy this album, or at least be able to take something enjoyable out of it.DJR07 wrote:tell you what, i'll probably like it no matter what any one else says (very much like how i felt about stand up) - so i'm eagerly looking forward to this release
And just to answer Nitro's question, even though it wasnt pointed to me.....to tell the truth, I really dont enjoy R2T that much

I wish they would do some sort of concept album...say just play straight jazz music, i think that would be kick ass. I really want them to make an album that no one saw coming.
If i have one critique of this band, its that they dont take enough risks, but fuck it, they have all the money in the world, who cares, go crazy!

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

actually in all honesty, given the fact that hello again and joy ride are both live songs, the kinda that just loses something in the studio, i have to say that the studio cuts of those two are pretty solid as far as the soul of the song... but had he gotten his hands on sugar will or crazy easy, i dont know, im worried sugar will would have the same kinda vibe that stolen away has... good at its roots but lost in productionGrasso wrote:The '04 songs all kicked ass, and then they proceeded to fuck them up on the album.
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Mark Batson.
Let's hope that dosn't happen again, let's just hope....

That would be nice, especially if they got some guests like i dont't know... the flecktones? Maybe a jazz bonus disc on the next album hahaRunsWithBuffalo wrote:I wish they would do some sort of concept album...say just play straight jazz music, i think that would be kick ass. I mean, we've heard Dave's and Boyd's solos. They couldn't hold their own in any real jazz situation. I've actually never even gotten why people consider DMB is part jazz.

2 things if we're talking about straight ahead jazz as mentioned above.fedelm wrote:What's wrong with boyds solos ??? I simple love them...(perhaps because I'm a violin lover).
Fede
1.) He doesn't play jazz, he fiddles. Maybe he can play it, but he's never shown any ability to.
2.)I enjoy his solos on the studio discs, but have you ever heard live recordings? Not officially released ones but taped shows? He's out of tune, out of time, and really pretty awful.
