the vegoose show was surprisingly awesome.

here's my detailed review!

Bartender: that newer droning intro with timmy doing some slide work. really cool. very mellow bartender, end wailing part was kinda short, and not too crazy. but it was nice enough.

Dodo: it was actually really nice to hear acoustic. timmy made it sound very good, and it had a great solo on it. timmy's the man

LIOG: Dave started saying something about neil young...couldn't really make it out. but hten he said "this song is not by neil young, as you'll notice." then he busted into LIOG. awesome. just solid. again, mellow. didn't get too intense, i actually think he played kinda slowly, but it was great to hear it.

Stay or Leave: great song. sounded fantastic, and dave's voice was spot on. i was amazed the entire show, but this is when i started noticing. he was hitting everything! and perfectly.

Jimi Thing: awesome dave and tim style. great timmy solo, and again, dave did the "lately iiiii'vvveeee....been feeling looooooooow" really great. i couldn't believe i was hearing him like that. haha. the whole time though i was praying for one thing. and then it came

What will become of me: fucking awesome. couldn't ask for anything more. just...perfect. timmy sounded great, so did dave. amazing.

Old dirt hill: yeah....wasn't too thrilled. but then i started listening, and i couldn'te ven tell what song it was anymore. maybe it's because i don't know old dirt hill THAT well. but the bridge actually sounded really cool with dave and tim. and he didn't say bring that beat back to me (can't catch me...can't catch me...) seventeen thousand times. it was nice and short. and timmy added an AWESOME solo to an otherwise weak song. so all in all, i was pleasantly surprised with this song. you guys should check out the recording.

Gravedigger: standard gravedigger, i like this song though, so no complaints here.

So damn lucky: alright dave....enough some devil...but wahtever, this song's pretty decent too.

little thing: LITTLE THING?! wooooowww....first chord, me my brother, sister, and friend went NUTS! i was in shock. i couldn't believe he was diong it. but alas, no story. just some wailing. but STILL, it was great to hear it. great great song, and great moment.

Two Step: short intro, but GREAT. timmy did an awesome solo again, and dave's voice was perfect. loved it.

Down by the River: i'll tell you something...this song sounded EXACTLY like breathe before he started singing. check it out. haha. but anyway, awesome. it was GREAT! really surprised to hear it.

I'm your captain: timmy solo song. this song fucking owned. it soundedl ike a compilation of REALLY familiar songs, but it was really really cool. timmy's phenomenal.

Some devil: timmy left the stage, dave came back with the electric and did some devil. the only thing i can really say is taht his voice was perfect...again. haha.

Satellite: off-key intro. nice intro to that song. and i love timmy's additions to it. i like it a lot more than full band. but still, kinda eh for me.

The maker: always a treat. timmy's the man. all that has to be said.

Crush: FANTASTIC. wow. timmy's solos were insane, dave's voice was beyond amazing, the crowd was so into it. just awesome all around. so excited to hear it.

Billies: nature intro! insanely fast timmy solos. seriously, timmy had his game on tonight. not like last year at vegoose (like i heard at least on the recordings). he was awesome. good stuff.

smooth rider: had to hit a really low point somewhere right? haha. at least it was short...

Crash into me: dave tells a story about animals and how he feels bad about them (like at the zoo). closing lines were something like "one day we'll be saying 'yeah! there used to be elephants roaming africa!....no way....YEAH!....this song is all about elephants" and he goes into crash. fucking hilarious. hahaha. and seriously, i dont care what you guys say. crash is a good song. the dixie chicken part gets me every fucking time. again, his voice ruled.

typical situation: woooooo!!!! awesome!! just solid. timmy makes everything just 1000 times better. solos, fills, everything. he's so talented. loved it.

Nancies: this song is way better dave and tim than it is full band in my opinion...timmy's solos are way better than boyds. haha. just solid. cool intro, nice sing along type thing.

encore break: the people near me (all the way in the back) were screaming halloween...but nothing came of it. gotta try though right? haha

Sister: sounded great dave and tim. my first time hearing the song, and i loved it. good work dave

Oh: eh. it's a fun song...but eh. apparently it's about his granpa or something. he said this big long thing about his grandpa before hand, but id on't really remember it.

When the world ends: "a lot of people dont like this song...i know that...but i like it. so i'm gonna play it anyway...this song is about love" at least he knows.......

Save me: oh come on dave....weak encore. boring.

Ants: seemed like he was just trying to save the encore with a staple. regardless, great way to end. timmy's the man.

overall, the show was surprisingly amazing. i had a blast, and it blew my expectations away. dave was really funny, talked about pimples, animals, the crowd, timmy....lots of stuff. oh yeah! he told a hilarious story about memory motel with the stones. he said his teleprompter wasn't working, so he had to make up all his verses. i really want to hear the recording. hahaha.

there's my review! great show! these next few shows should be fucking awesome.
