Trading/selling guitar for new one

Unread post by Grachi » Thu Oct 26, 2006 3:39 pm

I have had an Alvarez AD60CK for i guess 2 years now, and while I really like the guitar I want to go down the path of playing with a folk body. One of my friends here at college has a folk guitar and i find it much much easier to play, seeing as I'm a rather slender guy. I have decently long arms and fingers, but the dread is just starting to feel clunky to me.

Anyway, I was thinking of selling/trading in my alvarez dread for possibly the same guitar just the folk version (AF60CK), or getting a different folk version. Here what I was looking at:

Was wondering if anyone had this guitar or what their impressions of it were. I'm going to the guitar store this weekend to see what they have... if they dont have this, i dont want to buy it online because i want to be able to play what I'm going to buy.

My other question is this. Does anyone know how trading/selling guitars to a guitar shop works? The place I would be selling it to is the same place I bought it from. The guitar is like 2 years old and no nicks or anything, just some scratches up at the top on the head where the tips of the strings have lightly scratched the head from winding new strings. I was just curious like if they would let me do almost a straight up trade plus maybe 100 bucks or something if I got the folk version of the same guitar I have now. I guess it depends on the place though. Any help appreciated. Thanks guys.
