which should i get

Unread post by seth_southerland » Tue Oct 10, 2006 10:30 pm

leave the cost difference out of this, but.....

(back story)
i've been playing acoustic guitar for almost 4 years now, and only acoustic

i can't decide between getting the boss rc-20xl loop station, or a mid-range electric guitar

i don't see either getting really cheaper in a relevant period of time

should i get something that can be useful as well as make me better at guitar in general, or get the electric which can provide a whole new dimension of play?[/list]

would the loop station be used specifically for any time of use, like with playing live.

Not yet. For now I mainly plan on using it to practice soloing over whatever chord progressions i come up with, or parts of other songs that i know.

being able to hear what you play after its been played is a very useful learning tool, as will playing new stuff over your own original stuff will be useful

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.

I have both and i play my electric a ton more now. I think loopers are kind of gimmicky though they are a good practice tool. Still its a great feeling to crank your amp to 10 and just wail. I just got sick of playing the acoustic and being all sensitive.

Sometimes you just have to rock.
