ive been sitting ehre for 4 hours trying to even get a start with my right hand. i just cant do it. idk how the hell john does it. ive been watfching videos and shit. can anyone help me?

that will get you started, but its wrong. it is not fingerpicked...its back and forth thumb and forefinger, and they never cross over as shown in the vid. this makes me want to make a video because everyone gets the wrong idea. maybe i will later, but until then, check out the neon sticky in the musician forum at http://www.mystupidmouth.com/ (wont let me link sorry). again the first two pages are wrong, but the third page of the sticky has accurate tab.

yea i think you can pick that up in hi-res at http://www.score1more4me.com/ using his ftp server...basically dmbontv for john mayer. great show

i absolutely cannot use my thumb. my hands are just too small. my thumb willnot stretch on the last chord of the verse. AHHHHYHHHHHHHHH

haha i just want to smack him when he does that because i look like a fool at guitar compared to him. AHH uh i do not understand what to do with my first finger. im just making sounds with my fingernail. i dont understand his right hand strumming. i can do it if i jsut use my thumb. but tahts stupid

i've been playing neon for like 2 months straight. I now have a money callous on my left-hand thumb from straddling the fretboard so much.

anyways, I got the jist of the song, and can play at studio-album speed pretty well. I can make a video of the intro part. I know there are a few vids online but none of them show it up close WITH the fretboard hand. Lemme know if you want an accurate vid just like JM plays it.

that would be amazing. yeah im just starting to get a callous. im playing waiting on the owrld to change and attempting the heart of life. i think those are getting me prepared for neon

sure thing, should be able to do it saturday... hopefully my martin will be out of the shop by then - the audio jack got unscrewed and messed up. I'll post here when I get a chance.

Guitar Center still has my martin... I have another guitar but the neck is really fat and it's hard to play neon with it. I'll create and post the vid as soon as I can
