Fields of Gold Instrumental

Unread post by Appfro » Thu Sep 14, 2006 8:53 pm

I learned this song for my wedding. Amy wanted me to do it instrumental just so we could have something personal. it's going to be used for the bride's maids when they walk down the aisle.

another version is soon on it's way. sarah is working on it right now as we speak. we'll try to get out maybe tomorrow or the next day. just wanted you guys to maybe give me some starters for pointers.

here's the tab for any of you who are interested. it's an easy song. i played it on the 5th fret instead of 7th and didn't add any of the leads because sarah is doing that. also i had to cut it way short because of the length i needed it for the wedding.

I did. And I was ready to commend you on your composing skills.

Whatever, you played it well.

it's very pretty, it will fit nicely with the walk. When you have it down you will be able to add all the little nuances - extended notes, play with the timing, the resonance, etc. it's very bright when you play the multiple strings on the high notes, may I ask what type of guitar you are playin?

you have a great technical command of the instrument. It will be nice to hear some originals from you.

i'm playing a martin d-16gt. it's a great guitar. i would recommend it to anyone. but i also have a great pickup. and right now, and this is embarrassing, but i can't remember what it is. anyway, it's really cheap and it's recommended by doc watson and the other deep south great pickers so it's the one i got. i'll get the name of it later.

anyway, thanks for the comments. i actually have horrible technical command  i just practiced this a lot for amy :) but if you want to hear originals, i have posted....probably a dozen here. so PM me and i'll upload some of them for you. thanks for the interest.

thanks for the comments everyone. sorry if any of you were confused. this is Fields of Gold by Sting. I did not write this one  i have no composition style yet. have not gotten that far musically. matter of fact, this is the first instrumental i've learned.

Is the pickup a K&K mini?
