trust me...even with guests, that's the most boring like half an hour ever.
I agree, I really do not like those songs no matter who guests on it. Smooth Rider just gets repeated over and over and over again until it stretches to 12 minutes of monotony.
Smooth Rider grew on me. you really have to open your mind up for that song. I hated on thje album and hated it the first time i saw it live. But in Alpine it really grew on me. I would actually be excited too get it in a set now, it doesnt have your typical dave guitar or vocals, but its still good.
And is it just me or is Robert Randolph one of the best opening acts but also one of the worst guests?
I've seen it live, I've listened to the versions with Randolph on it and I just cannot get into the song.
I'm with you an RR, as a seperate act he is pretty good, but I don't like him guesting. His sound does not fit in with the band, with the exception of Bayou, but even then I don't like what he adds musically to it.

I love RR and the Family Band in their own right, but agree with what you guys say about him not adding a whole lot to dmb. Using Smooth Rider as an example, Warren Haynes makes it a hell of a lot better, where RR makes it a little cooler.

I LOVE the band live. BY far my favorite opener.
But god, i would go on a limb and say he makes songs worse. What he did to two step was bad. Eric Krasno was 100x better.
oh well.

Good God, what a show. If I Had it All had an outro that just kicked my ass, so good. The first set just lasted so long, and for all you who think "damn, that must have SUCKED!!!!!11!!"....Shut up, the past two night were awesome. There was NEVER a boring moment.
totally proved my point several pages back... that no matter how shitty the set looks on paper...if you were there it kicked ass... as long as ive been here i think i can only remember one dude being mad after a show.. and that was the dude from the hollywood bowl, but even then im sure DURING the show he had a blast.
although i must admit that the set bashing has gone down alot over the last month or so, soo maybe you guys are starting to be a little bit more optimistic

That's just one person's opinion, there are reviews on other sites by people saying they did not like the show. So I guess you have to download the show and decide for yourself.

i have never seen a bad performance (not worth the $25 - $200 ticket), but the crowd has ruined a show or two for me.

The only bad show I have ever seen was SPAC N1 last year. The performance was as bad as the set list.

that was me. and during the show, for the most part, i did not have a blast. i had a blast at the beginning, the end, and two songs in the middle. but that's it. the majority was very disappointing.
i actually haven't had any problems with crowd from the shows i've seen, but i've also never had lawn....

But downloading the show doesn't really do it justice either, you gotta go and feel it to be a good judge of how good the show was.
