Just listened to all the summer '04 songs, seriously what the hell were they thinking with Stand Up. They had such a solid base for an album already, I can't believe they played those songs everynight for a whole summer and just scrapped them so quickly like that.

Oh and did you know that during the Spring '04 studio sessions when they wrote Crazy-Easy, Sugar Will, etc...they wrote another new song that we have never heard and probably will never hear.

its crazy right?? there are plenty of other bands that would kill for songs of that quality.

Butch's bartender solo really needs to go.
i think its fantastic, personally i dont think butch gets enough credit. ok i would leave his jimi thing scat on the curb, but he's a musician, bartender is his solo song. what other song would you prefer him to solo to? liog and 2step are up there. he can jam with carter as well as any of the other members

i think Butch and Carter should have a side project with a funky bass player and just jam out.

That would be awesome. Just a bunch of instrumental funkified jams. That would be amazing.

We gotta admit, this forum has been busy lately, I would say DMB deserves a kudos for the year thus far. They are giving us some improved new songs and showing some backing off from the SU songs also bringing back a few older favorites. Seems like they are definately keeping our attention (I dont know if im speaking for everyone) and their attitudes seem to reflect what they are all about this summer. More so since the 04' tunes anyways, so its been a while.

/of stoned rant, I just still think of DMB as the best band out there and this album could be a make or break for alot of older fans but I got some it will a much better album than SU

i used to hate crash into me because it was a radio song... until i realized that the dixie chicken ending, as well as dave yelling "CRASH" gives me chills everytime. i no longer cringe when i see it on a setlist.

I think we should start an official petition on Fonze's blog to get the '04 songs back and even on the new record.

Or at least have everybody post some kind of comment about how good the '04 songs are, I think bense did something like that not too long ago, if enough people bug the shit out of him, maybe the band will see how much their fans love the '04 songs.

Wishful thinking maybe ... but it couldn't hurt

I guess part of the thing about being a fan of a band is dealing with ther decisions, if we "bug" them to play what we want, they wont play what they want and the music will suffer in the sense that their heart wont be in it and they'll lose a passion for what they are doing.

Haha yeah Brian wrote on his myspace thing just about everyday telling him to bring back Sugar Will and Crazy/Easy, he was just joking around though, he knows those songs aren't coming back anytime soon.

Yeh I know it's all joking around, ha, but seriously maybe if enough people post on his myspace telling him how good those songs it might put a thought in their heads. At least a couple that aren't on live releases.
