Hey guys, i got a new song ive been playing around with and i need your input, this is and extremely rough recording, im going to add harmonica, a guitar solo, possibly on my lapsteel, and my buddy wants to add piano too.
So, the point of this is just for you to crit my songwriting and the voice, even though this is not my best take.
I had problems with a few of the higher notes, but i still want input.

Yeh to be honest it is pretty similar to wonderwall, its E G6 Asus4 Asus2sfmartins wrote:I like the song a lot. I like the rythm of the guitar, especially the muting part.
However, the piece you play at the beginning seems like Oasis' Wonderwall, until the point you start the "muting stuff". Or am I mistaken?
I really like your voice!
i didnt even realize it until i played it for someone and they started singing wonderwall along with it... to which i responded "shit"

Maybe you can give it a different rhythm.

I'm really fellin in this song. There's nothing better than a strong fast chord progression. I didn't really notice it being too "Wonderwallish" and I enjoyed it. I would say this song defiently deserves a little mroe emotion in your voice though. You build it up nicely to the chorus (the "only one for me" part) and to me it feels like you should be really letting it loose during the chorus. Overall I really liked it. BTW, I liked that Bittersweet Baby song as well.
personally, i don't think the intro sounds like wonderwall. good strong song. nothing struck me as bad in the lyrics. progression was simple but definitely did what it needed to do. the only critique i have there were more missed notes in this one vocally than in bittersweet. admittingly this song would be much harder to sing. just be careful and try to hear the note out before you get to it. maybe that doesn't make sense. just make sure you know exactly where it that you're wanting to go before you commit to it. hope i helped. good song.

I enjoyed that. Good lyrics and a nice melody=very good song.
As for the vocals there were a few off notes but that's not important right now. What's important is that you have a good overall tone to your voice. If you keep working at it you could sound awesome.
Oh and one crit, it seemed like it sped up a little ocassionally. Try playing with a click track or keep time with your foot. /nitpicking

Thanks guys. I definetly realize i didnt hit all of the notes, especially in the second verse.
I may very well have sped up, especially in the breakdown part, i get excited...

I like it. Like that upbeat progression, simple, yet incredibly effective. I can hear this already being done really well in a full-band setting. Yeah, your voice was pitchy in a few spots, but fixing that just comes with practice and time. Like the melody. Good stuff Andy.
Didn't hear Wonderwall at all.
