i met a jazz sax player who's been playing in bands in clubs around chicago. i don't know the first thing about the saxophone or sax theory, but i think he sounds damn good. check out our tunes and tell me what you think. here's my website and the two with him are the first two songs on the music player.

p.s. these two songs are the two oldest songs i have in my original reportoire. i wrote and recorded both of them when i was 16 years old... i think i sound like a chick and the songwriting is sophomoric and, well, not to the caliber of my current stuff (imo)... but i'd love some feedback on the sax. thanks guys!
so i got a sax player (2 originals enclosed)...
Creative Influences first, i like it. DEFINITELY a jazz sax player
but it fits well i think. i really really like the intro sax part and how he referes to it slightly throughout the song.
The wind. i think the sax is overpowering in the intro. it sounds like it's going to be solo sax song. definitely not my favorite that i've heard from you so far.
sax could work really well. i think adding other instruments will help him blend in a bit more, but he's really good.

More amazing shit from you furthy
Creative influences is pretty much a perfect song there is nothing i would change about it. The sax is spot on, the guitar is perfect, amazing vocals as always, and i'm especially impressed with the lyrics. You're definetly one of the best writers on these boards.
I think the sax intro is fine in the wind, im through listening to your shit theres nothing to critique and its goddamn depressing.
keep it up

Thats exactly what I was thinking...either drums/djembe or bass would be a good addition.Appfro wrote:Creative Influences first, i like it. DEFINITELY a jazz sax playerbut it fits well i think. i really really like the intro sax part and how he referes to it slightly throughout the song.

Good stuff though.

And I think i'll lower the sax on the mix on "the wind." that song is, like i said, years old. and it now has an outro that i haven't recorded (which a friend pointed out, is very similiar to pantala... except 1 and a half steps up... same opening Em formation)... that really adds a lot of character to the song, considering it doesn't have a bridge. anyways... if i get that down, i'll post it up too. thanks for the feedback guys. like i said, i'll be more of a fixture around here when i get two minutes to settle down haha.
