6th String sounds funny

Just re-strung my guitar for the first time and my 6th string sounds weird. It seems to have a lower buzzing noise. My tuner says its in tune though, is it just the new string?

Alot of times my new string tends to do the same thing. If you're talking about the Low E, then its always the same with me. I've noticed that it tends to go away after the first day or so of playing. If it continues for a while, it might be something else.

Thanks, yeah it is the low e so I guess I'll wait and see if it goes away after a couple days.

Is professional help needed for that? I have a buzzing but it 'looks' like my action is okay. It only makes this noise when I hit it hard.Ill try to figure it out..

Oh man, it's so wierd that you mention that. The same thing happened to me this week....well it might have been before that, but i really noticed it like 2 days ago. I have a pretty new Taylor 814, and i get the buzzing around the 9th fret on the A string...i'm like what the hell man. if you find out what's up, tell me, because i'm about to bring mine to a music shop and be like "hey, this guitar cost me MADD DOUGH and now it's being a hippie. fix it."

sorry, didn't see this question. it can technically be done by yourself, there's a rod that runs through your neck that you can turn to change the action, you can lift the bridge up too, but i've been playing guitar for long enough to know that i would never do any of that stuff myself.

Your neck might be warped alittle bit? when i had my first guitar, i left it in the trunk of my car in the middle of winter (yes i realize how dumb it was) and after that the neck warped and i couldnt play the 12 fret on my E and A strings wthout buzzing. thank god that guitar was a piece of shit

sorry, didn't see this question. it can technically be done by yourself, there's a rod that runs through your neck that you can turn to change the action, you can lift the bridge up too, but i've been playing guitar for long enough to know that i would never do any of that stuff myself.

you would be changing the height of the saddle not the bridge. and don't do that or tweak your trussrod unless you are very well aware of what you are supposed to be and not supposed to be doing. take it to a luthier, a setup will cost you like 30-40 bucks at most.

yeah i'm not gonna risk doing that to my tay, and i bet he won't either...i'm bringing it to a shop around here and making them do it.

has anyone ever heard of something like this happening because something's wrong with the construction of the body? my music professor , who plays guitar, told me that might be the case but he's never heard of it happening. anyone?
