New Guitar time: Need some feedback

I think you made a great choice compared to other taylors. I have always liked the 400 series better then the 300, 500, or 600 series, and the 14 size is my favorite. For the most part, if you want a dread, don't go for a taylor. Taylor really did something with the 14 size. In that price range in the taylor line up, to my ear, the 414 is the best choice unless you want to spend the extra cash and jump to the 700-900 series. Get some pics up.

Did you buy it at the GC near BU?
If so, I probably played your 414ce... I bought a 12 string last Sunday, and played a bunch of the fancy guitars too. Played that $6400 Martin.

i know the $6400 Martin you mean... i actually went to the Guitar Center in North Attleboro (waaaaay outta the way) - i needed to go to a neutral GC that i hadn't been too, and it had a bigger selection than the GC in Natick,MA... The Martin's are just too ridiculous...they're sooooo freakin' nice!! but i'm happy with my Taylor!!

very similar to my thought process! almost eerily exact actually
