Originals from my band's rehearsal tonight

Unread post by TimmyJ4140 » Wed Aug 16, 2006 1:00 am

Set up a single mic to capture the sound of our room tonight, and here's what came of it. Can't hear the vocals too well, and the mix ain't great, so take it for what it's worth. 5 original tunes that still need polishing, but we think are really coming together. We've got outlines for maybe half a dozen more, but that's another story. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated. Enjoy guys.

drums - Mike (my bro)
electric guitar - Shawn
bass/vocals - Steve
piano/acoustic guitar/vocals - me

Mori Aira - If you listen to no other, listen to this one. It's my favorite by far. My music, Steve's lyrics. Him on lead vocals, me on harmonies.

Bury The Catch - Groovy kinda song. One of Steve's. Him on lead vocals, me on harmonies.

Busy - One of mine, music and lyrics. Simple song really. I'm on lead vocals.

untitled (funky) - One of Shawn's. Instrumental, save for a few lines of lyrics later on in the song. Steve on vocals.

Candlelight Cream - Shawn's music, Steve's lyrics. Fun rock kinda song. Steve on lead vocals, me on harmonies.

There are a few more which I didn't post that still aren't quite all there, but those will come later. Enjoy. Thanks in advance fellas.

I can see why you like the first one. Very emotional and well composed. I liked the build up and solo @ 3:20, I assume that was you. Does your band just consist of a drummer, piano/vocals, and Guitar/vocals <-you? I think the lead singers voice sounds kind of nasaly but still is pretty sound.

Were they talking about you at the beggining of the 'Bury the Catch' , cause that was low. This sounds alot like my roomies band, just the type of songs they play. Funky/blues/rock

I don't know how long you guys have been playing together but you sound like you work well together. Deffinatly a complete group of musicians, no loose ends.

Dude the begging of funk 2 sounds like your going to break into mario brothers. It still sounded ok even though it wasn't Mario.

Keep us informed on your band with posts and clips.

Peace

PS: Your band have a name?

I like Mora Aira. You guys sound good. Thats the only one I listened to. It sounds like it should be a Santana song.

Hey tictacs, Jenn and I broke up a few months ago. Oh well, I'm with Katie now, happier than I ever have been.

Hey Eliot, we were talking about my brother, lol. "If you want chicks, shoulda learned guitar. Look at all of us, where's YOUR girlfriend?" I know, it was bad. Band consists of:

drums - Mike (my bro)
electric guitar - Shawn
bass/vocals - Steve
piano/acoustic guitar/vocals - me

Nah, we don't have a name, not yet. We've only been playing together for a little over a month, and yeah, I really like how we get along, in every aspect. Steve and I trade vocals fairly regularly, he does some, I do some, so it's all good. In that first one, it's Shawn on guitar, and I'm on keys. Thanks bro.

If I posted a few more, newer, digital multi-track recorder versions of these and a few more, would anyone even listen to them . . . ?
