Most Beautiful Chords

Unread post by aleceiffel » Tue Nov 11, 2003 10:36 pm

so what are some of your favourite chords, the most beautiful ones, just played on their own?

for me, i like a lot of chords that are played open up the neck in alternate tunings. you could play the same chords in standard tuning, but to me, the ringing of the open strings sounds really... je ne sais quoi.

but i think the most beautiful one i've come across is, well, i don't know what it'd be called, so i'll describe it. if your guitar is tuned to DADADE, the chord goes, low to high: 0 0 10 0 10 8. absolutely enchanting. also, i really like the first chord of two step. the first chord of crush too. it goes along so well with the words "crush me"
Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall...

that chord is just the notes C A and D, i could call it a Am(add4), C6sus4, or a D5(b7)

my favorite chords would have to be maj7, maj9, m9, m11, m7(b6), 13sus4, #9 and more...

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

i really just absolutely love G chord played --0787. like a D only up higher. i use it all the time. and it really is just the G that i like so much.

my least favorite and hated chord (and i find this kinda cool) is Gm played like 3x033x. i absolutely dispise that. But like capo 2 and it's ok.

i think i really like G and the reason it's cool is cuz Gm would be the opposite (kinda).

I thought that would be a E/Ab chord: a mayor E with an alterned bass note (Ab).
Or that's the same, I don't know...

Capo 2? so like...3X233X? that's a Gm6...sounds great when used properly...
