Good. That means they are putting good songs back in regular rotation.Ricky Bobby wrote:if they keep playing the rare songs, they won't be rare anymore.

just got back from cuyahoga.
pretty decent show, nothing incredible. highlights included jtr, boyd ripping it up on the grace is gone hoedown jam, dave screaming during american baby intro, and a real sweet event poster i picked up. lowlights included my louisiana bayou streak continuing to five straight shows, jimi thing (no warren haynes, and i wasnt a fan of butchs scat), and the stretch from hunger-> smooth rider (before warren's guitar solo, which rocked).
i'll post a full review tomorrow

I honestly thought it was "know you ryder" for the first couple minutes (very similar chord progression at least). I thought the hoedown/bluegrass jam was great, especially with the lights going crazy the entire time. Have they been jamming Grace out like this the whole tour or was this something they just pulled out last night?checkii wrote:OK, is it just me or is the "hoedown outro" to Grace just them jamming out to Blackwater?

holy shit, what a great night. Blossom is a fucking great venue, i had no idea it was like an ampitheatre in the middle of a park. Although it meant no shakedown street, i thought it was a beautiful place for a show, and i came prepared anyways
. I was worried the sound on the lawn wouldnt be loud enough but i was right up front and it sounds perfect. The opener was fucking great, had me and my girl dancing like crazy, and we didnt take a break till the run of SU songs.
As much as the SU songs werent my favorite, they really had their place. I mean, there seemed to be 18,000 other people there other than me who loved them so I think they were solid (especially Hanes on smoother rider, he really filled it up). Grey street only got me going like crazy for the last couple songs, and after STDH (piss n a beer for me), Things only went up from there...
Grace was amazing, and the bluegrass jam that they went into (which I thought was Know you Ryder for a while, haha) was fucking great. Have they been doing this for the whole tour cuz Ive never heard them go into a jam like that from grace before? Good shit. JTR was just a gift from the band and i love em for it, It was my first JTR in the 4 or 5 years ive been seeing these guys and it was top notch. The Crash, Jimi, and Ants were all perfect, great way to end the set (though Hanes woulda been sweeter on Jimi instead of butch's scat/solo)
As for the encore, Ive never heard AB intro before and I thought it was very nice, though it kinda put people to sleep. But they knew what they were doing and seagued into a rippin two step that didnt dissapoint (Even butchs solo was short n sweet!). Carter was crazy all night, he completly reminded me whyy hes my favorie drummer, hes sick. The whole band was on fire and really gave a great performance, regardless of the heat. Dave's voice sounded great, and he was dancing all night too, what a show!
