Does Dave play STDH like our tab?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Does Dave play STDH like our tab?

Unread post by Sugar Will » Mon Jul 31, 2006 9:26 pm

I've seen more then one song played differently by Dave at a show I've attended.

Anyone know if this is played differently or exactly by Kanter's tab? I just mean the riff mainly...I know the bridge is simple.

-thanks

you might get a better response if you post the audio of the version you're talking about so somebody can listen and help you out. However, if you're talking about the latest one, from hartford I think, I don't think it's out there yet or it probably would have been posted in General DMB Discussion. I've only seen the one from SPAC a few years ago over there.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Dr. Peter Venkman: I make it a rule never to get involved with possessed people. Actually it's more of a guideline than a rule.

i just looked at this tab for the first time and realized how boring it would be to play. makes me respect Kanter even more for sitting through videos of this lame song.

True, it really is a pretty boring song to play through, especially when you don't sing as well. But I will admit that I really think that this song has some rather genius moments. I'm personally in love with Roi's part.

So have I, I remember right after I learned it I was just messing around with the bridge and ended up speeding it up. Now, I like to play it slow and fast....I've got random recordings somewhere. I think I just might record tonight.

The song was tabbed from a video of Dave playing the song(as are all my tabs) so it's pretty much the best you can prob get in terms of accuracy(but I do make mistakes, ha).

In terms of placement of fingers, the ones I've seen...yes, it's correct. As for the song :?

Alright, thanks man.

I guess with a riff like that, there really isn't any other alternatives.
