It is a lot better than Folsom (self explanatory), Gorge (intolerable mix, 3 gigs and 3 waygs) , LS (the CD, at least, a dvd of fenway would have been nice) GGP (just a horrible performance), and so on. It is definatley not a 'terrible release.' Anyone who says that, I ask you if you have listened to the recordings, because I think it is evident you haven't. Two nights and no repeats except for can't stop. I do'nt think you can ask for much more. The only thing missing is Dreaming Tree and JTR.
Blooooow me.
I will agree with you that Gorge is an intolerable mix. IMO, Central Park and GGP are the only shows that were mixed well (maybe because they're the most recent?) I don't even like the mixing job that was done on LS and Live in Chicago. It sounds like whoever mixed them made a conscious decision to turn boyd and leroi down to inaudible levels. I mean during solos I can barely here boyd or leroi (which is weird, because I don't think it was going through the PA like that, so it must have been done in post). Gorge is awful (which is sad, because there are some great set lists there). It sounds slightly better than a taper pull. With GGP and CP, finally, they are mixed well.
I'm hoping that the mixing on the Fenway shows is similiar to what I'm hearing on CP and GGP. So yeah....I preorder already.
