Are you talking about a solid body acoustic?
If not, why not just install a pickup?

Read his post. He wants to sell his D-15 so that he can buy an acoustic/electric.
So I said why not just install a pickup.
Unless he wants a solid body acoustic. Like a chet.

TOP

okay, so i'm looking for some new opinions here. i'm also contemplating between the two D-15's. i already battled the question of electronics vs. no electronics, i'm going with no electronics. if i want to gig down the road, i'll deal with it then. i just really love the full sound of an acoustic guitar. anyways, i think my price range is around $1000 and this falls into that category. what other martin guitars are comparable to the D-15? i need to make a decision sometime in the next two weeks so this can make it onto my xmas list.

Get no electronics and spend 170$ on the LR Baggs M1A. I can't say enough good things about this pickup.

yeah that's what a guy told me today. he said he also prefers the fuller sound of an acoustic without electronics and he said if i want to get them down the road, LR Baggs is the way to go.

Just the smell of a rosewood guitar alone is worth the money. I have played D-15's in both the rosewood and mahogany. The rosewood has so much more punch, it feels like 10 cell phones are going off in your pockets. From my experience, Id say pay the extra $, later on you may regret it.
