Elixers
From what I undestand to be true, the core string under the winding of the G is even smaller than the high E, thus its core is more easily broken from being struck to hard. The problem with my G is usually the fact that it breaks at the saddle though, which im sure means my saddle needs a little shaved off so that its free to have a little slack to move back and forth over it rather than being stuck in the same spot.

My guitar has no intonation problem....
EVERY guitar does it when the strings get old...
what I was saying is when I play an open A string (after 3 weeks or so depending on how much I play with them), then try to match it with another string, it differers, thus harder to keep in tune...
elixirs are sleek and have a smooth feel; best for when I play "dave-like" stuff where it is always critical to keep your fingers free...my fingers get "caught" on other brands.
Once again, it all comes down to preference and opinion...
...it just happens that mine is better
just joking

elixers are too slippery for my tastes - especially when they're brand new. They give a little after they're played enough. While I think regular bronze strings are too rough, and coated strings to smooth, I like the in between feel of the phosphor bronze strings which, for me, are perfect for playing Dave stuff. So I prefer D'Addario phosphor bronze. I think they have better tone as well than Elixers.shane wrote:i just put elixirs on my godin last night... love elixirs... somewhat addicting, luckily i bought strings with my moms credit card lol. now if only they had had the $25 12 string set for my hofner... lol
so when it comes to liking Elixers this quote says it all:

good, and you?
