I think the general concensis is, if you want to die early and sing better for maybe a year, you should smoke some fags. man you guys really get into these fights. but does anyone know about jeff buckly???

my voice is 100x better when i am smoking regularly.

its not making my voice better, it hides a lot of the inconsistencies.

Ya, when I record my friend Lucas, he has to go out periodically and smoke when we are doing vocal tracks because of that reason. It dosn't change that much (I can hear a bit of difference), but it does hide a lot and give his voice a raspy quality.

Nice yeah. im not gonna start smokin cigarettes but i love smokin pot. anyone smoke that alot? im thinkin bout gettin an oz. tom.

i've never heard of it, is that a fag brand or something? Who is this tom guy, can he hook me up with this pot you speak of?

Sounds like he's from Oz. You either need to move to Kansas, or HBO. I'm sure Tom's bound to be there somewhere.

bocelli is not opera if you where saying that. you talk to any opera buff and they will explain to you technically how he does not have an operatic voice, patty lupone currently playing mrs. lovett in the revival of sweeney todd has an operatic voice though, and so does michael severis who is playing sweeney.

Did he say Bocelli was Opera? No. And did anyone ask for you to flaunt the fact that you know the names of three Opera singers? No. Guess what? Google knows Opera too.

I don't know what you're referencing, but Jeff Buckley drowned when swept under by a boat wake.

Anyways, smoking is very bad for your voice especially as you age. A lot of young guys smoke because it makes their voice sound older. Take Dave for instance, his voice sounds much different now than even 10 years ago.

Also, smoking doesnt necesarily kill your range, rather it shifts it down. So you wont be able to hit a falsetto but you may just nail bass notes.

Either way work with what you have and make the best of it. Smoking is so bad for you that it would never be worth it.
