You'll get money one day too, and you'll be able to drop $2000 on a guitar like it's nothing.
It's all part of living.
err... dont you have a D-35 tony? some of us are still on our 35 year old, handed down, martin sister company, adjust the truss rod with the change of the seasons, try to keep it in tune beaters. Jerk.

just messin man. besides my birthday party is tommorow and my whole family. (mom, dad, 3 sisters and their husbands, one brother and his wife, and both my grandparents) went in on one gift for me... i cant imagine what else it would be but a new guitar. fingers crossed they chose wisely, id feel like a jerk if i had to return it haha
Dude awesome!! I bet it feels like x-mas eve when you were a little tyke. Hope its a sweet axe man..I mean come on..what else can you be getting??? BMW or Martin/Larrivee/Taylor

Fuckin Sweet! Double POST!!!
Haha you sound more excited than me! It sure as hell isnt a BMW, my family doesnt really have money, but my dad has a history of spontaneously dropping a fair amount on gifts. I hope its not a Taylor...

my guess is Martin, because they know I'm a big fan (I toured their factory and have 2 martin t-shirts, even though I don't have a guitar from them) I just hope they did some research (maybe read my posts on here?) because if they just got the "best" (most exspensive) one they could afford, it may be an X-series... which would sadden me.

I really appreciate my family doing something like this for me, but when it comes to something like an Acoustic guitar, I'm the kinda person that would much rather shop around, play 500 of them, and find the one that suits me best.
So what did you get??? :?:

a silvertone... a black silvertone signed by dmb.

i really don't want to sound like a brat, but I'm very disappointed. I mean I'm very thankful for it, I know my family put alot of thought into it, but I don't like it at all. I like the bands music, I'm not obsessed with the ground they walk on and all the shit they sign. I'm never going to play the thing, not that I would want to (silvertone) its just gonna hang on my wall and become fodder for my friends when they say im obsessed with dmb.

i feel horrible for not liking it... but I wanted something to make my own music on.. i got myself too excited that was my problem...

and the worst part is if it was a regular guitar that i didnt necessarily like i could sell it and just say it wasnt my style, but i could never tell my family that i dont want this, they think its the best thing ive ever gotten.

How much do you want for that ovation.

Yeah I fuckin worked my ass off for two years to get a 812CE Taylor, and it was worth it. It has such a loud bass tone. It has a beautiful sound. It also makes the crappiest player sound like dave. I want a cheaper gutiar which i can just kick around by the fireside.

$450 shipped is the going rate.
I have a few people interested, but they're waiting to see if they have the money.
It's a great guitar and only 6 months old.
I have the original box it came in, too.

I understand, everyone has had those gifts from somebody they love who spend a lot of money and time. You feel horrible for somewhat disliking about, but just be thankful for the thought which I'm sure you are and you'll grow to really like it for not the guitar, but for the gift itself. Happy Birthday dude
