:First off, Wrong Forum:

I would believe this is very false. Dave Matthews is not someone I consider a great singer. Someone like Bocelli or Celine dion or some crazy Opera dudes are great singers. And I have yet to see Bocelli tokin on a grit. It's just because back in the day of Sinatra, it was fashionable if you smoked. EVERYONE smoked, they didn't think it was bad for them. So that whys all of the old time good singers smoked, to be coooo. And to say that if you sing you must smoke to be even better is completly ridiculous

on this topic, the coolest thing involving guitars and cigarettes has to be clapton parking his cigarette in the strings above the nut.

I once heard that the guitarist of Guns and Roses droped a cigarette down his shirt or something and put it out with his guitar after a crazy solo. Cool stuff.

Agreed. For once, I agree.

I still hope to come up with an invention that lets you smoke and play at the same time. It's so annoying when I'm jamming and there's a joint going around, and I have to stop to have a toke.

bocelli is not opera if you were saying that. you talk to any opera buff and they will explain to you technically how he does not have an operatic voice, patty lupone currently playing mrs. lovett in the revival of sweeney todd has an operatic voice though, and so does michael severis who is playing sweeney.

other opera singers would be:
GIUSEPPE DI STEFANO
ROLANDO VILLAZON
Anna Netrebko

those are the ones i know because of la traviata.

actually on topic, the only good singer i know of who smokes is idina menzel, who is obc maureen in rent, and obc elphaba in wicked. but you can tell her voice is going because she can't hit all the notes she could before. basically smoking really kills your projection, and somtimes range.

Did he say Bocelli was Opera? No. And did anyone ask for you to flaunt the fact that you know the names of three Opera singers? No. Guess what? Google knows Opera too.

True story: I tried to get addicted to smoking in high school, but it just wouldn't take.
