Hardest Dave Songs
I've been searching around, and I could only find the easiest songs to play. I want to know what his hardest songs are. I thought WWYS and Satellite was tough to play but what do you think?

I searched, found this one if you're interested: http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic ... dave+songs
In response to your question, I think the chorus of Fool To Think is hard to play/sing with.

All opinion. I found TB fairly easy to play and sing, and The Stone, you just have to practice the main riff enough times that you can do it without thinking.mattinbeloit wrote:I would say Tripping Billies and The Stone, especially to sing alone to while playing.
I have trouble playing and singing Two Step. Just keeping the constant "two step" strumming pattern while singing gets me caught up.
I would say that the general concensus is that TB and The Stone are harder than Two Step.Hydro120 wrote:All opinion. To play? Yes. To play and sing? I dunno. It's just keeping the consisten rhythm in Two Step while singing. I can play it just fine.brian_ok wrote:I would say that the general concensus is that TB and The Stone are harder than Two Step.Hydro120 wrote:All opinion. edit: The Stone really isn't that hard if you look at it from the angle of it's the same thing over and over again. You just have to play it enough times so that your fingers do it without thinking. Try this: Play the main riff over and over as long as you can, while doing something else, like reading somehting on your computer or while watching TV.
edit2: Or, how I learned it, is I played the main riff without the 16th notes (really, 32nd notes, since it's in 6/8) while trying to sing it, focusing on playing the music correctly more than singing it correctly. Eventually, I was able to do it the right way. Took me about 2 weeks or so to get down.

Yeah. Satellite is a toughie. Mainly because you can't fudge anywhere in the verse. You have to be really clean with it. That, and singing while playing it is pretty tough.collegefreak wrote:Did you guys ever think Satellite was hard? I've got the main rythm down now but it was really hard at first.
I came up with another way to play Satellite that sounds alot cleaner, but I couldn't play it while singing as good as I could the real way.
palm mute it a bit.Hydro120 wrote:Yeah. Satellite is a toughie. Mainly because you can't fudge anywhere in the verse. You have to be really clean with it. I do. I'm saying it was tough first learning to do it cleanly. I can do it cleanly without palm mutes, but its sounds better muting it.Nuladion wrote:palm mute it a bit.Hydro120 wrote:Yeah. I've got The Stone down pretty cleanly now, and I've moved on to Trippin Billies.
I do agree that the chorus of Fool To Think is hard to sing/play. Satelite was pretty easy for me though.
I think the toughest thing I've had so far was the first couple of times I tried to play and sing Rhyme and Reason. It was the verse that was gettin' me. But now, its really not so hard of a song, especially not just playing.

Tripping Billies was really difficult for me. Two Step was more difficult for me. The Stone was easy cause i knew Drive in Drive Out. Rhyme and Reason easy. I'd say the verse to Tripping Billes was the hardest song for me to learn. I've been playing dmb for almost eight years, now i can play everysong, its the different tuning songs that i just haven't got into.
