$$$ question on Takamine guitars

Unread post by schubox » Sun Jan 12, 2003 6:17 pm

Ok so the official site has no price guide that I can see at all. I hate sites that don't, anyways, I was just wondering how much this guitar might be:

and what you all think of Takamine's in general, equal to Martin's and Taylor's or just a cheaper substitute, discuss.

Couldn't find the ESF40C, only the ESF48C (maybe discontinued?):
Musiciansfriend.com - $1,299.99

I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than $1000, as it's good some good woods on it. Rosewood is expensive, but well worth it. In terms of comparison to Taylor/Martin, Takamine is usually a step down, but they are always great guitars in terms of bang for the buck, and their electronics are usually quite good. Top of the line Taks are probably equivalent to lower line Taylors and Martins

Tak's are great guitars. Might I reccomend looking into a Lakewood gutiar?? Dave uses the M32, and it's a HELL of a guitar. Check it out here.

Both are reviews of the guitar from the same site. You can get it for $1650 from those guys. That doesn't come with electronics, but you could have them installed. I don't think you are going to find a better new guitar at that price.

Another thing you might want to try is looking at used guitars.

All that being said, Taks are great guitars, and those guitars that you're looking at are good ones.
