I can help you out with the standard version. Just tell me what parts you're having trouble with and I'll post audio for you. I actually put an old recording of mine up in my Dave Audio Request Page. I can make a better one if that one doesn't cut it. That Thread is like halfway down the page i think.

Standard tuning
Capo 2nd fret.

E, G slide up to D then C then draw into E again.

Here, another quick recording:

D&T4LIFE

I used to play for all of the lonliness, that nobody notices now.

are you referring to the D chord variant?

EADGBe
xx4232

this is the 5th chord of the verse and is played by making a D chord with your index, middle, and ring finger. use your pinky on the 4th fret of the D string. its a little bit of a stretch, but not the worst Dave stretch to master.

its an important chord in the song as it is used all throughout. its structure is also used as the first and third chords of the bridge (?) where Dave sings "what to do with the rest of the days..."

Another way to play that D chord is to bar the 1st and 3rd strings with your first finger, and play the 2nd string with your 3rd finger, 4th string with your 3rd finger.

I've seen tabs of Stay or Leave with the capo at 2 and some with it at 7, but Dave doesn't use one in this vid. Just tuned differently?

That makes a lot more sense. Thanks. Now I just have to figure out how the heck he's strumming to get that sound. Yeah, I know...practice ;)
