Martin DM3MD is it worth it?
I have been offered a pretty much mint/excellent condition Martin DM3MD for $4500, I am wondering if you guys think its worth the money? I value any opinion you have.

That's gonna be up to you. Can you play it before you buy it to see if you like the sound? Can you afford to spend the extra money for sentimental/investment value?
If I had the money, I'd buy one without a doubt. I love the sound, love the 3-piece back, love the African paduak. It's a gorgeous guitar, both in looks and in sound, and the fact that's a Dave Matthews signature is just icing on the cake. Unfortunately, I can't afford it

Um, maybe he's hesitating because it's $4500.

Do you intend to play the guitar? It would likely be a fantastic investment if you were to maintain its mint condition. But if you're buying it to play it for the long run, the sentimentality and tone, along with its ease of play to you, etc. are most important.

I bet it sounds like a friggin angel, i'd love to just sit down with one and play Bartender on one, just like the 2003 D&T Shows.

Honestly I am buying it because I feel it is a better value than the guitar I was going to buy for $2500 which was the Martin D-41, I have had many people tell me how amazing the DM3MD sounds and I am a Davehead so I can't see me not liking it, and also as some of you had said, and I had thought, this guitar can only go up in value and it is in excellent excellent condition so I dont see why I shouldn't get it.
I bought one a short while back. Almost had to get rid of it due to some unforeseen canine issues. I was offering 4000 shipped, which I think was an incredible price. I paid 4200. I haven't seen the price jump that much over the past couple months, so your price seems to be about right. I'd check to see what, if anything, has been done to it, and if it was done correctly. Otherwise, the sound a playability are incredible. It's a freakin monster. tHe sound is deep, but the body is light as a feather. It's also a beauty. Not too flashy, the reds are incredible.
The offer still stands. Anyone who's making their way through the Lehigh Valley (PA), and wants to jam and play the DM3MD, drop me a line.

It is basically a D-35 if you want something to compare it to. I say the price is decent, i have seen these go on ebay for over $5000. I would also say that anytime you want/need to get rid of it you will get what you paid for, most likley more. A good investment none the less.
