Questions concerning guitar building courses...

Unread post by mangold » Fri Jun 16, 2006 4:26 pm

I got an art scholarship from a family through my school of a former art student and what it amounts to is that I get some money to take art related classes over the summer.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a group ACOUSTIC guitar course, probably through a company. I thought I saw a flyer for one through Martin a few months back, but I can't find anything on their site. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I don't live far from there ata ll. Northampton is supposed to be a pretty great community college. I would highly recommend it.

Also, note the wording of the course. It says design, not build a guitar in a week.

I would do it if I had the money.

I'd give them a call and see if you can't find out some more info. It might be a great time or it could be a let down. There doesn't seem to be enough info on the flyer to determine what the class is gonna cover.

Hey, I looked into this school a few months ago, it seems to offer a lot, in a really scenic part of town. As well, BC is supposed to have some of the best tonewoods around!

no problem! I wish I could go, but it's so much money! This is what I would build:

-Grand Auditorium body
-Spruce top
-Cocobol Back & Sides
-Venetian Cutaway
-Abalone roset / body binding (similar to Larrivee "10" series)
My Gear:
-Norman B18 Cedar top with Fishman Stereo Blender
-Crafter SGAE0038/N
-Larrivee Limited D40RW
-1974 Martin D-35 Sunburst!
