A little review from tonights show

Pig - Great opener, you can never go wrong with it. Set a nice mood for the show

Everyday - Not a huge fan of the song so it was nice to get it out of the way quick

DDTW - Excellent version, Rashawn sounded good on it

Grey Street - Typical truncated version

Proudest Monkey - I love this song, it was great to hear it. Last time I heard it was way back in 1996.

Satellite - I know its not a huge hit with a lot of people but I enjoyed this version. Dave's voice sounded good tonight.

Big Eyed Fish - Beautiful, the song gives me chills.

Bartender - Great version, Dave made up for missing the wailing at Darien. The song is still too long though however and I don't think the Butch solo fits in at all. They should just go back to a 10 minute version instead of the current 20 minute ones.

What You Are - The intro was nice, not a fan of the actual song. I've heard it so much that it really doesn't do anything for me.

Typical Situation - Highlight of the night hands down, this was worth the price of admission. The interplay between Leroi and Rashawn was out of this world. Can't wait to download it.

Nancies - Pretty standard version

Break Free - This song is pretty meh for me. It doesn't really sound like a DMB song. I'm probably in the minority on this but hey. I will say that the jam is nice, but the verses and the lyrics are hideous and Boyd needs to put that fucking ringtone machine away, he kills the song for me.

Where Are You Going - I just can't seem to escape a show without hearing it

Jimi Thing - I'm tired of this tune. Butch did a nice vocal on top of his keyboard playing but thats not enough to make me want to hear this night after night.

Bayou - I really hate this song, I know people flip out about it because its has TEH ENRGY!!!1! but I can't stand it.

Encore:

Sister - Its a nice little song, I just wish they would mix up that E1 slot a little bit. I was hoping for Diggin a Ditch.

JTR - Amazing, Rashawn is sounding better and better on it.

Stay - Good closer, typical version.

All in all a good show. It wasn't anything amazing, but it sets up tomorrow to be something special. Can't wait.

The only way to top that is if they play Sweet Up and Down>JTR>Raven. I thought tonight was a great show. I was not expecting DDTW, What You Are or Typical Situation at all. Those three were probably my favorite songs with Typical Situation being on top. I was really hoping to hear Nancies into Warehouse. I still haven't heard that song live. I was so happy they played JTR in the encore, I really wanted to hear it. Hopefully they will play Raven tomorrow.

But I think it will be hard to top that set. The last three songs weren't the greatest but Butch scatting on Jimi Thing was hilarious and I actually like the ending of Bayou...like Nitro said, it has TEH ENRGY!!!1!!11!!!!

I really hope I can hear Dreaming Tree as well tomorrow.
