I also managed to get some Patanga in DADGAD, but the fact is that he uses the thumb for the bass notes in the video, and that would be unnecessary in DADGAD. The bass notes in JFuller's tab are correct, I tried playing along with the CD and, even if there are many differences, those notes are ok.

Code: Select all

For example:

E |--x--|
B |--x--|
G |--5--|
D |--7--|
A |--7--|
E |--5--|

becomes

D |--x--|
A |--x--|
G |--5--|
D |--7--|
A |--7--|
D |--7--|

just an example.
Mmm...[/code]

yeah bro im kinda positive its standard, he uses basic chord shapes with the E high E open. he just uses his thumb for the low note, its not as weird ad you might make it out to sound.

i know some of the finger picking parts in my tab arent 100%, but generally the chord is right, if anyone can help out with the right exact note, or even put in the 2 blank spots i have (big pull off after the intro) and the two handed chord change (saw him do it on dvd) i would be grateful

I have the dvd, and he never changes guitars, and there aren't any others by him on stage. Unless he has some off stage and the dvd just doesn't show him changing guitars, it's in dadgad. I don't think it cuts out him changing guitars either, cause it leaves in all the stupid shit he says between songs(don't get me wrong, i love the guy, he's amazing on guitar, but fuck is he annoying when he talks).

I believe there are cutouts in between songs, you just don't notice them.
Actually I think the Patanga gag is quite funny... anyway, maybe this is nonsense, but what if it was dropped-D?

No but it does show him tuning a bit. and its not like its hard to tune a D to an E, and there are breaks in the video, it generally only shows the songs. im 100% positive that its in open, because i chords i have down not only look the same but sound they same. they are generally just F or F-minor shapes using your thumb on the bass note, while leaving the high E open. i promise.

Wow, excellent tabs guys. Would anyone mind posting a tab for his Backstreet Boys one? I would tab it myself but I suck. :(

Thanks!

Patanga is in standard tuning, capo 2. Backstreet Boys is in standard tuning as well, capo 4. Definitely not DADGAD. Go to his Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/tracebundy) and click "next" on the video player until you get to Patanga. Watch where his thumb plays the bass notes.

Thanks for the Patanga tab JFuller! Nice work. Do you have the DVD? The 3rd chord in song intro is up on the 5th fret (relative to the capo), instead of an open Am chord. Anyways, thanks man.

Yeah, I've seen him live a couple of times and he seems to use a new definition of Patanga at every show. It's actually pretty funny. I think his humor has come a long way since the DVD. He's quite hilarious live.

and the backstreet one is simple.

Em.....open G string, open B string, D with high E open, G
then 12th fret harmonic slapping to, Em, C, G, and just a simple F# on low E
