what are these called?

Hi, i have been wandering what exactly are those black covers that you see on the sound hole of some peoples acoustic guitars.. i havnt seen one up close but they seem to cover up the entire hole. can anyone explain what these are? thanks

they're feedback busters. They stop your guitar from feeding back when you're plugged in and playing loud. They're cheap and effective.

prevents ambient noise from getting to the amp (strings buzzing, etc), it makes a loud screeching noise.. very popular in hard rock.

Play a mic out of a speaker and mic that speaker and you will hear what feedback sounds like. :lol:

great for live performances, meaning you can really raise the volume in the floor wedge without getting that evil sound
