New equipment recordings/ old problem
I just got a Rode NT-1A and I was recording vocals today on two of my songs. Once on the first song I was doing, my vocals were not lining up right but I just rerecorded them and it was fixed. But everytime I try to record the vocals on top of the guitar part on this song they dont line up at all. I recorded another track with me playing guitar and singing at the same time and it sounded fine, but I cant do them seperatly at all. And i know its not me singing it has something to do with the recording. I have real time recording too so Its not that. It seems that it is playing my vocal part faster and before I even recorded it. Needless to say I am really pissed off now for speneding $350 on recording equipment and it not working the best right now. Any suggestions as to what the hell is going on here?

Yeah, either its latency or some programs have a programmable recording trigger so you hit record and it doesnt start recording for like five seconds to give yourself time to get situated. Thats my guess is there is some sort of delay built in to the record button.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

These are both just beginning drafts of the songs. The reverb is just there to make it blend together, so any suggestions on anything or better ideas of mixing it to sound good would be great! Thanks!

Ya it has something to do with the timeclock sync between your computer and soundcard, they were not matching up so I guess you got it working. I remember the first time I tried to boost my setup to the computer I had the same problem, but I ended up having to get a new soundcard, so I'm glad you didn't have to do that...
