Cleaned up version of new songs

Unread post by mattinbeloit » Wed Jun 07, 2006 2:14 am

I have posted these in other threads and they are floating around so I figured I would make a new thread with them. So this week we have gotten a kick ass version of the new song "Idea of You", a version of "Kill the King" and a live studio version of "Sister". So i took what we have and I did some EQing and faded them in and out, for instance, the original "Sisiter" download had an anoying british guy (i have nothing against brits, he was just starting to get on my nerves...), Idea of you had some space in front of it and Carter doing a little click off with his sticks (I also faded it down on the end jam so it goes out with them playing because the ending to me sounded very unstructured and just kind of stopped), and Kill the King had Dave talking at the beginning. Now I don't have the nice stuff from the studio i usually have, but I do have a mac laptop with an Mbox, protools and a $1200 program called "Peak" for mastering, so it does the trick for the most part, i just don't have all the plugins I usually have. Keep in mind too that I had mp3's to work with so thats another downfall, there was some loss in quality changing from mp3 to wave, but I still think these sound better, if you listen very carfully you might catch some digital fuzz in a spot or 2. IOY and KIK you will not notice much change, I focused more on the bass for those and tried to round them out and added a tad of reverb (you hardly even notice it) and it brings stuff out a little bit. I spent a while on sister though and you will notice a big change in it, it sounds a lot better. Anyway, go ahead and take a listen, at the least they are faded in and out for ya, enjoy.
