Adding fingerboard dot markers???

Unread post by neophyte » Mon Jun 05, 2006 10:56 am

Im buying an alvarez model 5031 made around 97 and this guitar doesnt have the fret markers inlaid on the fingerboard like I am used to. Im sure it will be easy to play without them, but is it possible to add these dots? If so what is the best way to do this and what material do you use?

THanks for reading.

I would think any paint or anything would compromise the sound and sliding on the fretboard.

i have an alvarez with no inlays, just the diagonal on the 12th, and I wouldnt play anythign else now. I was nervous about it, but it actually kepps you from looking down at your fignerboard when playing.

just leave it, you will be happy you did.

yeah. i find now that i will glance down at them, where as with full fingerboard dots i will lean and look at the fingerboard.
