Pearl Jam is offering their current tour for download, mp3 show for 10 bucks, flac for 15. They upload the soundboard like a day or two after the show, its pretty sweet. I would love to see dmb adopt this policy, though it might lead to the downfall of the taping community...
That's fine with me. I wont download anything that isn't soundboard or matrix. I hate subpar recordings.... Im a stickler for quality.

yeh, its a cool idea. They could easily cover their costs and it would be great to have a recording of the show you attended. I always think they should include (or release separatley) the full concerts with all the davespeak and stories in between.

Since i live in england i've only seen dave on his own and not full band. When its full band is dave the onyl one who speaks/tells stories, or do boyd and the boys take the mike too?

And by the way, the quality isn't the best... was a "stealth audio" recording (meaning the mic was hid somehow, leads to not as good of recording quality as if it were on a stand). Play around with equalizer settings in your media player of choice to improve the sound of it some... increase the trebles a little more than the mids, and the mids a little more than the bass. Then give the whole thing a pre-amp boost (raises overall volume). Or at least settings similar to that helped me out.

Enjoy!

thankyou

however it won't let me edit the info on itunes, so i can't even give them an artist. Any sugguestions as to how to remedy this

Make the ID3 tags (mp3 info tags) with Winamp. That's how I always do it.

There's plenty of solid recordings out there that aren't soundboard or matrix recordings. For free. Plus with a little mixing knowledge, you can improve most recordings out there. While some people don't really like the work that entails, can you really argue with the price? :)

At the same time, soundboard or sbd/mic matrix recordings for all the shows would be nice.

I like perfection. :)

I have most shows from 1991 to 1994 that are all soundboard. They are excellent quality.

I don't think dmb should do a regular live thing like phish or panic because people already bitch that they milk it with their "repetitive live albums" or whatever. the live trax series will do just fine for me.
i think its a good idea, because it takes the repetitiveness issue out of the mix to a point, due to the sheer abundance. instead of fans being pissed about repetitiveness on these shows that are released once in a while, it will be obvious that the shows will have some repetitiveness. plus, how sweet would it be to have soundboard shows of every dmb show you have attended?
point taken.

it's amazing how we can call a band with such depth "repetitive". We are amoungst the luckiest to have a band like DMB. So many other bands have 1 live show. I know what everyone means saying this, but relative to the vast majority of other bands, they're not repetitive.
