Bron Y Aur Stomp

Unread post by mlb1399 » Sun May 14, 2006 11:35 am

I did a search and it didn't seem their was a definitive answer.

1. Does anyone have an accurate tab?
2. Does anyone have the correct tuning? I have seen 2-3 different answers.

Are you talking about the double disc dvd? If so, that is an awesome version and I think it's in different tuning than a lot of the tabs out there.

yeah thats what im talking about. that whole acoustic set is so kickass. i dont even watch the other stuff. i think i like jimmy page more as an acoustic guitarist...all their songs with him on acoustic are incredible, while only most of the other songs are incredible. ramble on, hey hey what can i do, bron yr aur stomp, going to california, etc etc

That site has some really good tabs, the closest that I've seen...especially Rain Song.

Ok I have a book called accoustic classics Led Zeppelin Vol. I that I didn't realize had the tabs for this song. I have to say their tabs are right on. I'm sure there are other ways to play it but this definitely works for me.

In case anyone is interested in picking up this book it also has:

Over the Hills
Tangerine
Going to Cali
Thank You
Babe I'm gonna leave you
Friends
Stairway

I can't vouch specifically for the Bron Y Aur Stomp tab, but any of the other tabs I've used from this website have been money.

Looks pretty accurate except for the slides at the beginning. He slides from a G to an A after the 2 natural harmonics. In the double disc dvd he does a double slide but that is in a different tuning than any that I have seen online.

The tuning he uses live is DGDGBD.. its the same tuning for 'thats the way and going to California.. The tabs on the websites are okay, for the verse and chorus but for what he plays in the intro/slide solo, and other solo, they are confusing.. What most difficult with Bron Y Aur stomp is the finger/pick combination.. he uses the same technique on black mountain side/white mountain side.. I used to think he used a thumb pick on Bron Y Aur stomp but he doesn't.
Its like... getting two birds stoned at once. (Ricky-trailor park boys).

Do you by chance have a tab with that tuning? That would be awesome!

man that earl's court stuff on the dvd is the reason that jimmy page is probably my favorite guitarist ever.
