All Along the Watchtower cover

Unread post by Alazais » Mon May 22, 2006 7:11 pm

Hi. First recording and first thread in Recording section. I did it in one take. I'm really looking for a gauge on where I stand and looking for ways to improve. Thanks for taking the time to listen and critique.

It would help to be in MP3 format, so it wouldnt take forever to download.

The guitar sounded prett decent, i dug it. This is a song I think I screw with everytime I pick up the guitar, and the guitar sounded real good. The vocals werent bad by any means, at parts they sounded strained and like an unnatural voice. My vocals suck, so Im sure somebody else can give more technical advice on that. All in all a pretty good first recording.

You really speeded up a lot but other than that on guitar it sounded fine. You voice has a lot of emotion which is good, but you need to keep it under control, like the wailing at the end. Good job and thanks for posting an MP3.

er... its not "speeded" up, dave's is just slown down. I would hope you've heard the original by Bob Dylan.

it sounds in the begining like you have no idea how to play guitar, due to all the buzzing, but as the song goes on, it becomes apparent that your action is set too low. i would have it adjusted.

you have a very different vocal style... almost wonderful world esque. not my favorite and you missed alot of the held notes, but with work this could be doable.

keep at it man

How do I go about working to improve? What are some tricks I can use? Any help is always appreciated.

Sorry for the bad grammer. I didn't mean the entire song was too fast I just ment that the tempo was ever increasing. And yes I've heard the original.
