Boss Reverb

Has anyone ever used the boss reverb pedal on vocals? Currently I use a delay but I am looking for something a little more subtle and natural. That way I can use the delay if i want the vocals to soar a little.

Any suggestions for a good vocal reverb pedal?

I have an RV-5 and it kicks ass on acoustic guitar, electric, and vocals. I would recoment it, I love it. I have never tried recording it though, just live stuff, but I might give it a try sometime.

I would recommend the Digitech Reverb. Its cheaper and is a great pedal.

have you used it on vocals or guitar? I want it for vocals but i am not opposed to digitech cause i have their overdrive pedal and love it.

Ive used it on guitar and it is great for it. I dont know how it will work for vocals.

I don't see why it wouldn't. Howie day uses his Line 6 DL4 for guitar and vocals and it sound great.

I use the boss reverb pedal strictly for my vocals. It works quite well for what i do. On my PA i have a bit of vocal delay on and than added with the reverb from the boss, puts a nice warm touch to it.

how do you have that set up? I have just a normal mic cable running from my mic to the amp. How do you hook up the petal to that system if the petal only takes 1/4 jacks?

Converters, or buy a mic cable with a 1/4" end.

yeh they make xlrs with 1/4 ends, i wouldnt suggest converters, ive had some go bad and it makes a loud undesirable noise

Probably the easiest way is to run the mic through a mic preamp first, which will improve the sound, allow 1/4" out to all the rest of the effects, and provide phantom power if you're using a condensor mic.

i run a 1/4 from the PA to the boss reverb pedal and through the DD5 to mic.

i think it sounds really nice but thats just me. It gives it a nice warm solid sounding vocal. I have the vocal delay set on my PA and than added with the reverb gives it a thick sound. The DD5 is just used sometime for a long delayd effect. But again i dont know hardly anythijng bout equipment and such, i just play through a few things ahah. Hope it helps.
