No way it was impromptu. Just because he said perfect timing doesn't mean that. They could have had it in mind and it's still perfect timing for the song even though they had planned on playing it.

Oh, perfect timing refers to "rain down on me" and the approaching rainstorm, I think. Cause dave says "we're gonna drop grey street 'cause we're out of time and the rain is coming, or somethin."

i was just about to post how cool it is that he says perfect timing refering to the lyrics of JTR......haha... guess someone beat me too it
