What do you play along to?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

What do you play along to?

Unread post by cgalves » Sat Oct 25, 2003 11:14 am

Hey guys,

I've trying to learn two step and songs like Pig, but on the studio album, I can barely hear the guitar part and thus cant time it very well or play along with the Cd. WHat do you guys usually play along to, his live Cds?" Which ones? And which videos too?

Thanks, PEACE

Almost any Dave and Tim show, especially the Lost Acoustics or Live at Luther.

you should aloso learn to play just by yourself... cause even if you think youre hearing yourself, you hear a lot on the cd

and dont sing along with the cd too much ( no pun )

Yeah, I like to put some headphones in my amp and then have the dvd going to. I dont know, I like to try to look just like dave. Most of the time Ill just sit down and make my covers. I try to stay to the same idea as the song, but I dont like to play it exactly, unless I want to of course

very true. and if you have to play along with the song get to the point where you hoenstly don't hear the part you're playing on the audio and just you. at first it felt weird for me i was like"where the hell did the song go" but then i realized that i was just playing it right on and now couldnt hear the audio part anymore. bi accomplishment. :)

Yeah, what you should do is get a plain tape recorder and but it near the hole and just play stuff. Then you play it back and play over that to get you solos down with the timing

I would never learned songs like he stone or R&R with Listener Supported.

and a lot of the recordings posted of dave covers on this sight are helpful...cuz most of the ppl just do guitar and voclas. thats how i learned the stone and crush.
if i were giving advice to someone on how to fly.....

id probably say throw yourself at the ground..and miss.
