im gonna sit on it for a few weeks... im gettin a lapsteel first
sweet what type? The stompbox could complement it nicley :D
just a shitty artisan electric one. i wanna learn before i go buy a weissenborn
Nice i was thinking of doing something like that a while ago.
speaking of which... youre in australia, how cheap can yu get a weissenborn over there? can you find used ones?
Depends...from what i remember when i looked into it a few years back it depends on the quality you want...

There are heaps of independant luthiers here that make beautiful weissenborns out of local timbers and such, however they are pricey.

Your other option would be cole clark guitars who make the lapsteels ben harper uses. They're a great aussie company, and I think their lapsteels are a bit cheape than custom made jobs. check out http://www.coleclarkguitars.com/

Whats your price range?
well its not gonna be a pricerange, its gonna be a timeframe. because im getting a weissenborn. the cheapest i could find them onliene is 675, so i guess ill wait until then

those lapsteels arent what im looking for. i want a PURE acoustic lap steel.
i thought maybe because theyre all made over there that you might be able to find them used in shops etc.
but ive never been to australia, so i wouldnt know

keep your eyes peeled, if you see one for like around 4 in decent condition, buy it and i swear to god ill buyit from you and pay to have it shipped.
By around 4 do you mean $400AUS or US????

Evey Hammond: I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

I happened to find these .they're not aussie so i suppose you've aready sen them: http://larkinthemorning.com/product.asp ... 1146119259

They're supposedly good quality but cheap?

If you want quality i dont think 400 US or AUS is going to get much. If you want the real deal then http://www.timkillcustom.com/index2.htm is the way to go. But yeh it will cost ya :D

dude, theyve got the same weissenborns on their site on musicians friend and they cost about 700 US in both places.

there are obviously more exspensive custom shop ones, but im only looking for a weissenborn, i assumed taht if they cost 650-700 new that maybe you could get one for 400-450 used (us) in australia, but like i said i dunno

they have lam ones for only 550, but the cheapest solid top is 675

Sorry to tell you but I doubt I could get one for that cheap. I will keep my eyes pealed though. I think youre better sticking with one of those musicfriends ones or whatever. Good luck!
