SOLID wood dreadnought for sale - PRICED LOW!!!
Ok folks,
I have two items up for sale, trade, or partial-trade. The first is a SOLID Martin-like wood guitar in mint condition for a price of $250. (Yes, you’re reading that correctly.) The second is a microphone for $15.
THE GUITAR
This is a Michael Kelly dreadnought with solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides (no laminates... this is the real-deal). It has a mahogany neck. There are beautiful inlays on the headstock, block type inlays on the neck, and inlays around the sound hole. I’d describe the guitar as having a vintage style, given that it has herringbone binding and open-gear Grover tuners. Click here for detailed pictures. Guitar has excellent action. Neck is straight, no problems. Guitar does NOT come with a case.
I really don’t feel like boxing and shipping this thing. Therefore, first preference will be given to buyers that can pick the guitar up (I live in Pittsburgh, PA). You’re can also try out the guitar before you buy that way. If there are no potential buyers that can pick it up, then I’ll consider shipping. I've sold another guitar at a bargain price on this forum (talk with BigSpeen). I'm basically constantly on the search for bargains, and I'm passing this bargain along to a forum member. I currently have 5 acoustic guitars and don't have time to play this one. My Taylor 514ce is my main guitar.
THE MIC
Audio-Technica ATR 20 Vocal/Instrument Microphone. Used about two times. Click here for a picture. I will ship this item for $5.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
Shure SM58 mic and/or some sort of USB hardware interface to get good recording signals into my laptop. For example, an M-Audio MobilePre or Digidesign M-Box for PC.
Feel free to email me with questions at epj106@alumni.psu.edu
Thanks,
Eddy

It would have to be shipped, since I am in WI. I could pay for the shipping stuff, such as the boxes, padding, and so on.. But, how much was the guitar when you bought it, and what is the list price.
And, yes, I am definately interested.
Also, can you record the guitar playing a few open chords, a few barre, and a riff or two. Nothing major, just a simple direct short recording, just about 15 or 10.
Again, definately interested.

Also, I'm not sure what this guitar retails for. I just checked the Michael Kelly website and they don't have any of their new solid wood models listed. I'm guessing it's between $500 - $700, but I'm not really sure. I paid $250 for this guitar a few weeks ago. I bought it because it was a great deal and I didn't want to pass it up. I'm not looking to make any profit on the guitar, just would rather pass the deal onto a forum member before selling to a non-forum member.

Can you please tell me which model this is. According to the website, all the models they show have some sort of lamination to either the side or back and in many cases both. Just curious. This is a Michael Kelly dreadnought with solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides (no laminates... this is the real-deal).

This model is the Legend SM
Serial # SM03050232
I'm assuming 'SM' means spruce/mahogany
The 'Legend' models are Michael Kelly's new solid wood guitars. They haven't even made it to the website yet. MK is a new guitar company and they just transitioned from selling direct to selling through dealers. Therefore, the website is in flux (until a few weeks ago, you could buy guitars from the website... now all you can do is 'find a Dealer'). This is actually my 3rd MK acoustic... none of which are shown on the website. For example, one I have is spruce/maple (laminate back and sides) and painted black... sort of like a black Taylor 610. I keep that one in an alternate tuning. It's not shown on the site.
If you all feel that $250 is too low, I don't have any problem raising the price

I was not interested really in buying. Just curious about the wood. Thanks for the quick response and good info. FYI, I think 250 is a bit high considering that is exactly what you paid for it. To me, it is now a used instrument (even if you got it several weeks ago.) Also, the buyer would probably have to throw in $20+ for packing and shipping. That is if you do not find a local buyer. If you all feel that $250 is too low, I don't have any problem raising the price

there is an 85% chance I am getting this guitar, and paying him more than he asks for putting up with mehd28v wrote:I was not interested really in buying. Just curious about the wood.
