a question of tim reynolds equipment

Unread post by mastermindmatthews3436 » Fri Oct 24, 2003 11:01 am

i was just wondering about this because i have about every piece of electrical equipment that tim does except a dd-5. so how does tim switch his delay speeds with a dd-5 pedal without a built in tap tempo?? this isnt listed on his site under guitar setup and i really want one so i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to do this or to buy the dd-6 with the tap tempo included?...thanks

he manually adjusts the speed, during his solo shows, he sits in a chair, plays a riff and has the delay pedal on, then he bends down and just messes with the settings

nope, he simply just never changes it. usually it is set upwards of the 2 sec max and that's that.

think of like the bubbling sound he can make on several of those songs on L@LC. if you listen his delay is never on tempo with the songs.

I think Tim Reynolds sound just really sucks. It's not pleasurable to listen to at all. It's just speed and glitz w/ no substance.

yeh i got a line 6 too, great for looping but it lacks the delays that a dd-6 or any delay pedal can give

Hmm... which line 6 do you have? The DL-4 (what timmy has) has a lot of delays.

well acording to tim's road manager over on his board, he rarely if ever changes his delay. he likes it to be slightly out of sync. but the key word is rarely so of course he changes things but we were talking generality. and 95% of the time he doesn't go changing his delay in the middle of a song.

It should be changed from "never changes" to "rarely changes". There are some examples where he manually bends down to change. An example off the top of my head is "Halloween" from 3/13/99. Listen, you'll hear specifically the times that it happens.
