Taylor Expression System problem...

Unread post by captainburrito » Sun Apr 23, 2006 4:30 pm

Hey y'all. I have Taylor 310ce and I went to plug into my amp yesterday and all that came out was a static sound (I have a terrible amp, so I thought that might be the problem, but my other guitar works fine through it). When i turned up the volume on my taylor, the static sound through the amp got louder. I replaced the batteries and had no luck...so i guess my question is: Is this a thing that I should be able to fix myself, or should I take it in to a dealer to see what they can do?

Mine did something similar except it was playing radio on the amp instead of just static. I took it to the store and they said there was nothing wrong with it. I ended up having to replace the pickup.

Well my Taylor is good. But the ES system that came with it sucked. So Taylor electronics are the devil.

Ya the early ES systems had alot of problems, alot of people end up replacing all the wiring in the ES and that seemed to fix most problems. Try posting over at http://www.acousticguitarforum.com, it is a taylor website and I'm sure they can help you out, they are preatty knowlegeable.
