i picked some up today to hold me over till i put on my new Elixers...and then i will likely use the fast fret with the new strings to keep them coated

i'm just wondering what you guys think of this fast fret stuff?? i asked the guitar shop guy what i could do to bring back strings that are starting to sound dead and the guy standing next to me said to boil them (which i've heard works but then they go REALLY bad about a week later...still, an extra week with as-new strings is worth an hour of my time)...anyways, the shop guy said to try fast fret as it gives strings a newer ring and will protect them and make them last longer and basically everything the polyweb coating is said to do (including reducing string talk)...a link:

I have used fast fret in the past when I first put strings on...and when they start to lose their coating...not really to preserve anything, but just to keep them from feeling and soundung crusty under my fingers...
