What drew you to DMB?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

CRASH INTO ME
The next week is going to be such a marathon of random sex that Jesus himself will be resurrected for the single act of flying through my window just to say "Dude, that's a lot of women you just did." -LICD

Crash was my first hard copy of a CD I got back in 96. It was the only one I had so it was the only one I listened to for like 5 months. Loved it, been hooked since.

(about 4 years ago)I had been learning guitar for about a year and was about as far along as i ever thought i was going to be. I always thought there were two ways to play a guitar, basic rhythm (G, C, D.... Em when you get fancy) and lead electric. I had never seen it played any other way.

then my brother showed me a video that he downloaded, it was the So much to say music video, and i was completely blown away.

his hands didn't stop moving!! I didn't know you could play guitar like that and he was a god in my eyes. so i immediately downloaded any video with his name on it:

the stone : kfog solo performance
all along the watchtower : woodstock
one sweet world : farmaid
storytellers : dave and tim

and i was hooked. i later found this website and it took my guitar playing to a completely different level. and i haven't stopped listening to the band since.

The immediate draw for me was their sound was unlike anything out at the time. Then I started to pay attention to the lyrics and realized that this wasn't just another band. They play with passion night in and night out, which is very addicting. Dave is very charismatic but when you look past his greatness as a performer, you see four completely unique and talented musicians. Carter is in a league of his own as far as percussion goes. Boyd's energy he brings to the table is incredible and Fonzy is one of the most underrated bass guitarists around. Leroi adds beautiful color and layering to complex musical arrangements. Put all of this talent together in one room, it can only be discribed as truely magical.
Look here are we, on this starry night staring into space and I must say; I feel as small as dust lying down here

Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"

I owned crash for awhile, listened to it but I dont think I comprehended it. A girl took me to a concert in '99 I believe and I was blown away. Next day went to the store and bought every cd I could find. Have been hooked ever since, and they are also the reason I started playing guitar.

first heard them when i was probably 3rd or 4th grade I think... I liked them casually, and how I heard of them was my brother had UTT&D where I heard Satellite , Dancing Nancies, and my favorite Ants. I then remember seeing the Crash video like a year or two after I believe on MTV and i think that was 5th or 6th grade? Again I listened to them casually now and then had them on my playlist on WinAmp like an album or two. Then everything changed when I saw them live for the first time just a few years ago. After that I got more of their albums, picked up LALC which actually got me started with guitar, and now I have like 4 or 5 gigs just of Dave and DMB songs on iTunes. The rest is history :)

Love these guys and Dave.
