Vocal effects: Grey Street/Bartender

curious to if anyone can tell me what the name of the effect is that Dave uses when he sings the emotional high pitched/elongated "i'm on bendaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahd knees, etc." (chorus) part on bartender... i know it's a little more than just reverb... it's some sort of echo... i don't know what to call it, ...anyway i just thought it sounds cool and would like the particular name of the effect if anyone knows

he also uses it in the vocal improv at the end of bartender

well, for Grey Street it's a simple delay that decays (fades). I don't know about bartender.

The only thing that rivals the talents of the band is the talents of their crew. There's a lot of skill in the background of every show..

i agree completely....the lighting, audio, visual...just tremendous... the DMB crew even got props for their hi-tech talent on discovery channel once, about technology....awesome

so i guess the audio effect is just a delay feature...unless there is another name for it..i'm interested in getting a vocal effects pedal that can do this, but i'm not sure if it's called a delay, or trail

If you want you can make these effect by yourself when playing a live show. Just do what Howie Day does, and use a dd-5. Just turn the feedbay down and volume down(put them at 12:00, or even the volume alittle more) and you have to hold the note first, then engage the delay, and it gives you the delay you are looking for!

sounds good thanks cheers...i'm a huge fan of Howie Day, so i know what you mean....who makes a dd-5? i'm relatively new to recording/performing equipment but i'm looking to invest in some...any suggestions on brand names would be cool too if possible...thanks again
