Another Remastering of The Lillywhite Sessions

Unread post by Nitro1515 » Sat Apr 15, 2006 9:33 pm

Somebody else has remastered the Lillywhite Sessions and these supposedly sound even better then the ones in my other thread. I'm downloading them now, I'll once again up them in MP3 format to my site when they are done.

Edit - They are finished, go to my site http://www.gianninotaro.com, click DMB Files and then at the bottom hit The Lillywhite Sessions (Second Remaster)

Ok these sound much cleaner and aren't as heavy on the treble like the other ones were. They are being upped to my site now, I'll post when they are finished.

Alright Busted Stuff through SUAD have finished uploading, the rest are still in progress so if you want a taste of what these sound like go to my site http://www.gianninotaro.com, click DMB Files and then at the bottom hit The Lillywhite Sessions (Second Remaster) and the first 4 songs will be there, the rest will be done in an hour probably.

Can anyone really review the differences between these and the first remasters?

Ok, i got the original flacs and have been comparing the 2 remasters. To me, this one sound a little better then the remaster from a few days ago. These sound more balanced in term of the trebles and lows, the previous ones were EQ'ed with alot more emphasis on the trebles and highs and as a result sounded too airy to my ears. These new ones are alot easier on my ears, especiallt the drums. On the old remasters, the symbols killed my ears at some parts, this is not the case with these. The bass can be heard alot better on these also, which really did alot on songs like Grey Street. So the main difference you are going to hear is a better emphasis, in my opinion, on the drums and a more defined bass and an overall better mix on your ears. What really did it for these was the fact that he used an apogee AD-DA converter (Which I use alot and love to death, excelent peice of gear) and a tube compressor that warmed things up alot, something the originals lacked. Check out the drums and bass on sweet up and down and the bass on Grey Street and you will probably know what I mean. So in other words, I would say get these If you can, a better job in my opinion, but not by much, but enough to do it for me.
