I thought I'd give it a go and invite the rest of you guys to post up your own covers of it. Come on everybody, grab a guitar and amaze us as you make the veins in your necks pop out.

I'll start things off after I get another couple goes at the vocal track (I keep coughing up a hairball towards the end of the song  )

That was damn fun to record. Okay here it is, and I hope at least somebody else likes it because my throat is sore as hell now.

Good stuff...I like the effects with the voice. Great guitar and solid vocals. Great recording.

It is actually slightly different. Not very different, but I busted my index finger open earlier today so I wasn't up to much fancyness.

The first one (right side I think) is doing

Code: Select all

Verse
E:--------------------------
B:--------------------------
G:--------------------------
D:----3\9--9-9--10-10--x-x--
A:---------x-x--x--x---x-x--
E:-1-------7-7--8--8---x-x--
   1 (3)

and only playing the downbeats on the chorus
and the other guitar is doing

Code: Select all

Verse
E:--------------------------
B:--------------------------
G:--------------------------
D:----3----9-9--10-10--x-x--
A:---------x-x--x--x---x-x--
E:-1-------0h7--0-h8---x-x--
   1 (2)
and doing a fast up and down strum on the chorus
I added the second guitar because while I really liked the only downbeat strum for the chorus, I thought it could use some reinforcement.

(Edit: Guitar 2 apparently doesn't start being different until after the first verse... whoopsie  )

it was cool and you sang in pretty damn good, but the rhythm was just too systematic. it felt like a march toward the end

Hehe.. I was just playing around with another rhythm track for it and it now sounds like something spanish... I'm thinking it's a Cha-Cha now with occasional bouts of very fast Tango.

Thats a good way of describing it. You did a good job with it (I really liked the two verses mixed as one...nice twist) but Im used to this song being a little more "sloppy."

If I can find some sober time (I had 3 midterms today Bob. Three.) I just might pop a halloween up. I need to change my strings anyway...

Dude, I'm really impressed. The vocals are sweet, I really like how you ended the whole thing. Keep it up!
