Hey allllll
So yea, there is a song (Sweetest Goodbye-Maroon 5) that I really want to incorperate into my bands live set but Im having trouble trying to find out which scale that Adam uses, or at least one that would fit well with it as far as soloing goes. Here are the chords (at least Im pretty sure)are:
Code: Select all
e|----------------------I
B|-4----3-----8----4----I
G|-4----3-----9----3----I
D|-4----3-----9----4----I
A|-2----1-----7----3----I
E|----------------------I

you have to play them really choppy on a clean electric, *wink* acoustic they sound shittay.
im not so good with theory, but im kinda feeling either a Bm#7-9 or a Bmaj7-9... but that E chord just dont fit... mess around in that department
edit: im havin a little success with B11-9 and B11#7... works the E in atleast
edit: ok a Bmaj7sus is a light framework, not as many notes to play around on, but nothing jumpin out at me as wrong
edit: Bmaj9sus is workin for me a little too... god im confused by this... can someone more versed in theory help? are these scales even names correctly?
i hope you can find some success in this pile of half correct scales i tossed at ya
EDIT AGAIN: ok... i just assumed it was in the key of B... but its lookin like a variation of c now... more to come stay tuned

a chord has notes. when you play those every one of those notes you can get to on the fretboard that makes a scale. maybe theyre not named correctly, but im saying when you play the notes in those chords the scale it makes is what im talking about
EDIT: GOT IT! B double harmonic. goodnight thats all i got folks. (neopolitan major works too)

the notes of the chord played in "scale form" or whatever you want to call it are called arpeggios.

i thought arpeggios were only arpeggios if you played the notes straight up from base note to base note, not skipping any etc.
well yeh you get the point
